Want to transform your home yourself for not much money ?

You'll need these tools:

•a mitre box or saw (for those angle cuts)
•a coping saw (for thin cuts so moulding meets flush to each other)
•finishing nails
•a hammer, or finish nail gun
•a nail set (to sink nails below the wood surface)
•a tape measurer

Mitring allows pieces to join around the window

Splicing is used for long walls (if one piece of wood is not enough).

Moulding joins together, creating two 45 degree angle cuts (cut opposite).

Coping is used on inside corners.  1 piece of wood is cut at a 45 degree angle and butts up against the other piece of wood.

Above and beyond baseboard and window casings…chair rails and crown moulding can really transform a room.  Choose a style that matches your home.

Moulding generally costs approximately $1.00 per foot.   You could easily redo a room for a less than $200 and make a big impact!
